Andrew Garfield absolutely swears he won’t return in Spider-Man: No Way Home

One of the biggest rumors surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the upcoming Spider-Man sequel in particular. Spider-Man: No way homeis that previous iterations of the webslinger, namely Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield of The Amazing Spider-Man, will repeat their roles and assist Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker on a multiverse-themed adventure. Well, despite various pieces of evidence suggesting that it will indeed be the case, Andrew Garfield has arrived to toss a bucket of water at the idea. When asked about the rumor in an interview, Garfield had to laugh at the idea that any answer he could give would ruin everything.

Andrew Garfield is ready to speak out about these rumors of his return as Spider-Man. You might be surprised to see what he has to say. Check out the full interview on the brand new #happysadconfused Patreon!

– Josh Horowitz (@joshuahorowitz) May 4, 2021 “There’s nothing to ruin, brother! I just have to cut you off quickly. There’s nothing to ruin. Like it’s that crazy too. Dude, it’s damn.” * weird to me because it is … I have this twitter account and I see how many times Spider-Man is trending and it’s people who freak out about one thing and I’m just like … guys, Guys, Guys, Guys … I wish I could just talk to everyone and say, I recommend you relax. Like listening, I can only speak for myself. You may be doing something, but I didn’t get a call. ”

Along with revealing that he has a Twitter account to keep track of these things, Andrew Garfield Flat-out denies any suggestion that he will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home and even compares the situation to a game of Mafia or Werewolf Interview, “the actor continued.” Do you ever play the game Werewolf? Or mafia? You know this game and I think it’s something like that where you convince everyone that you are not in the mafia? As if I felt like I was in a game of f * ***** werewolf or mafia where I’m not the werewolf, “said Garfield.” I promise you, I’m not the werewolf, and everyone says’ You are the werewolf! You’re the damn werewolf, look at him, he’s doing that thing! “

Garfield then doubled the rejection, stating again that he hadn’t received a call from Marvel, even theorizing that the studio might just be testing the water. “Look, I got a call by now, that’s what I say. As if I don’t want to rule anything out. Maybe they want to call me. Maybe they’ll call me and say, ‘Hey, people want this.’ Maybe they do market research.” joked Garfield.

In the past, returning star Tom Holland has also insisted that neither Garfield nor Maguire will say, “It would be amazing if it were them because they were.” [Marvel] haven’t told me that yet and I’m Spider-Man and I’ve read the script from start to finish. So it would be a miracle if they had kept that from me, but at the moment there is no cameo from the two boys. “

Despite Garfield’s recent rebuttal of the rumors, speculation is likely to continue. What we do know about Spider-Man: No Way Home is that Tom Holland will repeat the role for Marvel’s upcoming MCU sequel in collaboration with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, plunging Peter Parker and friends into the madness of the multiverse. Thanks to the actor, we also know that Alfred Molina will repeat the role of Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2 from 2004. So maybe the rumors aren’t as crazy as Garfield would have us believe …

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to be released on December 17, 2021 as part of the fourth phase of the MCU in the United States. That comes to us from Josh Horowitz.
