Animal Kingdom Taps Pose Veteran Charlayne Woodard plays the Badass Beneficiary of Smurf in Season 5
Where there’s a will, you bet your ass that she wants her will. Almost two years after the Animal Kingdom season four finale, it emerged that Smurf had abandoned her illicit gains Her old accomplice Pamela Johnson, TNT, has exclusively shared with TVLine the identity of the actress who will play the modern version of the character in Season 5: Pose Vet Charlayne Woodard.
Viewers will remember – if they think really far back now – that we first met Pam last season in 1977 (with Milauna Jemai Jackson in the role). As the season ended, J found out today that his grandmother had left her boyfriend with her vast possessions. But, he said to Uncle Pope, that didn’t mean they just had to get over the prey. They were criminals for Pete’s sake; They could just write a new will, backdate it, and play dumb if Pam showed up.
Ha – as if it would be that easy. TNT describes the recurring role as “warm and motherly”, but also as “tough and intelligent”. She’s still an asshole, but now she lets others get their hands dirty on her behalf. “
In addition to Woodard’s Pose performance – she was Damon’s dance instructor Helena St. Rogers – the savvy actress has a list of credits that includes recurring appearances on Prodigal Son, Roseanne the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Law & Order: SVU. So far, no premiere date for Animal Kingdom Season 5 has been announced. However, the show has already been extended for a sixth and final season.
