Anya Taylor-Pleasure, Chris Rock, and extra are becoming a member of David O. Russell Film

The plot of Russell’s next film is still unknown, but we know there will be an all-star cast.

A monster list of talents has joined David O. Russell‘s upcoming film with New Regency. As reported by Deadline, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, Michael Shannon, Timothy Olyphant, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Alessandro Nivola everyone signed up for the film that is currently being produced.

This bonanza of A-List performers joins an already stellar cast Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, and Zoe Saldana. Little is known about the as-yet-untitled film, which will be Russell’s first film in over half a decade. (His last project was in 2015 joyWith Jennifer Lawrence as creator of Miracle Mop, Joy Mangano.) However, we do know that the film is based on an original idea from Russell and that, as always, he managed to put together a number of Murderers cast to bring it to life.

Russell, who himself was nominated for five Academy Awards, referred Bale to his first Oscar win in the 2010s The fighter. He has also directed several other actors who received Oscar nominations for their appearances, including Lawrence, De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, and Melissa Leo, with Leo and Lawrence scoring wins for The Fighter and respectively silver linings Playbook. The cast he has rounded up here includes several Oscar nominees and winners, including De Niro, Shannon, Robbie, and Malek. He basically put together the New York Yankees of the cast, so the movie could literally be about these characters who all work in a Pizza Hut, and it would probably still be an awards season favorite. (And now that I’ve made this version of this movie in my head, it’s the only movie I want to see.) For now, you can read Collider’s recent interview with Taylor-Joy about a number of her current projects. including their latest surprise hit Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit.
