Bond lady Tanya Roberts dies at 65
Tanya Roberts was born Victoria Leigh Blum in 1955 and grew up in New York City and Toronto. Before acting, she was a model. After getting married, she began showing and made her cinema debut in a horror film called Forced Entry in 1975. In 1981, she joined the cast of Charlie’s Angels on the fifth and final season, replacing star Shelley Hack and winning a role sought by thousands of actresses. Winning that part quickly led to more significant lead roles including The Beastmaster from 1982 (in which she appeared as the female lead Kira) and Sheena from 1984, in which she appeared as the title queen of the jungle. She also appeared in episodes of the 1980s TV staples The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.
