HBO Max’s spin-off sequence The Suicide Squad receives Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland & Extra

The cast of James Gunn Peacemaker The series on HBO Max is taking shape as several new names have just been added to the ensemble. Peacemaker, a spin-off from The Suicide Squad, Gunn’s upcoming standalone DC film, will star John Cena. Now comes the news that Robert Patrick, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad will also appear on the show.

Patrick is perhaps best known for starring the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day along with starring roles in television shows like The X-Files and Scorpion. Brooks is also known for her role as Taystee on the popular Netflix series Orange Is the New Black and is also featured on the streamer’s new series Social Distance. Apparently, original characters not featured in DC Comics are playing Robert Patrick will play the role of Auggie Smith in Peacemaker, while Brooks has been cast as Leota Adebayo. Additional details about the characters have not yet been released.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Holland will come to Peacemaker and revive her role The suicide squad as Emilia Harcourt, an aide to Amanda Waller. This is the second confirmed actor from the Gunn film to appear in the Peacemaker series, along with Cena. It was previously reported that Steve Agee will also appear as John Economos, the director of Belle Reve Prison and another aide to Waller. Agee also plays King Shark in The Suicide Squad.

A DC superhero was also cast for Peacemaker, in which Conrad takes on the role of Adrian Chase, also known as Vigilante. In the comics, Adrian worked as a district attorney in New York City who became a vigilante named Vigilante villain after his wife and children were killed by a gang boss – in other words, DC’s version of The Punisher. Conrad previously played Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and has since appeared in Perpetual Grace, LTD.

The HBO Max will consist of eight episodes, each written by Gunn. The filmmaker will also be directing the first episode with several others. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2021. The filming of The Suicide Squad has now been completed, and a release date for this film has been set for next fall. After filming Peacemaker, Gunn will also return to Marvel by starting production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. 3.

Other stars in The Suicide Squad are Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Alice Braga, Idris Elba, Peter Davidson, Peter Capaldi, David Mastmalchian, Michael Rooker, Taika Waititi, Nathan Fillion, Storm Reid and Flula Borg and Daniela Melchior. Any of them could potentially appear in the Peacemaker series, but with Gunn still not revealing any new information about the story, it remains to be seen how exactly they are linked to the film. Either way, you can watch The Suicide Squad when it premieres in theaters on August 6, 2021.
