Jennifer Lopez remembers having to “persuade” producers to solid her on The Marriage ceremony Planner
It’s hard to imagine a world in which Jennifer Lopez did not play in The Wedding Planner.
At the time the romantic comedy with the singer and Matthew McConaughey was a hit and opened at number 1 on the box office.
The premiere also coincided with the release of J. Los second album J.Lo, a chart topper in its own right.
But in a conversation with your business partner and agent, Elaine Goldschmied-ThomasFor Lifetime’s Varietys Power of Women Conversations, Jennifer says none of this would have happened if she hadn’t convinced the director Adam Shankman take a risk for them.
She explains that prior to starring in The Wedding Planner, her experience consisted of what she describes as “the maid, the Rosie Perez-type roles, the dishwasher, that this, that that”.
Jennifer continues, “I just had to break out and convince someone to get into the first romantic comedy I think was The Wedding Planner.”
