Lando formally ordered from Disney +
It’s official: Lando Calrissian is walking alone.
Disney + announced on Thursday during parent company Walt Disney’s Investor Day that it had ordered a prequel series focused on the iconic Star Wars scammer.
There was no confirmation of who would play the title villain, although it was speculated that Donald Glover would repeat his big-screen role. The Atlanta Emmy winner played Young Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018.
Justin Simien (Dear White People) is attached to the shepherd of the project.
The galaxy’s favorite villain, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand new series of events for @DisneyPlus. Justin Simien (@ JSim07) is in the early stages of project development.

Billy Dee Williams, of course, took on the role of Lando in Empire Strikes Back of the 1980s (before returning to Return of the Jedi in 1983 and the Rise of Skywalker in 2019).
Lando joins a growing list of live-action Star Wars series on Disney +. In addition to the current Smash The Mandalorian, the streamer has highlighted two Mandalorian spinoffs as well as an Obi-Wan Kenobi-centric drama starring Ewan McGregor among others in green.
