Masked Singer Season 5: Niecy Nash will function the momentary host after Nick Cannon checks constructive for COVID-19


Masked Singer presenter Nick Cannon has tested positive for the corona virus, our sister site Variety reports. As a result, he will suspend some of the first episodes of the upcoming fifth season, which starts this week.

While Cannon recovers in quarantine, Niecy Nash (Claws, Getting On) will serve as the temporary host.

Nash’s TV credits also include Mrs. America, Masters of Sex, Scream Queens, The Soul Man, and Reno 911! and i never did She was a season 4 guest discussant on Masked Dancer and appeared on I Can See Your Voice, hosted by Ken Jeong of Masked Singer. She has been nominated for several Emmys: twice for Getting On and most recently for her work on Netflix’s When They See Us.

The Masked Singer, who aired its fourth season finale in December 2020, ended the season with 7.1 million viewers and a demo rating of 1.7 which dominated the evening in both measures. Among the regularly scheduled excursions, the finale drew the largest audience of the season and the second highest demo number, just behind the premiere.

The series, which was renewed in December, is set to return later this year.
