How’s that for a talented family? Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) can be seen in the upcoming Apple TV + series The mosquito coast, based on a novel by Paul Theroux – his uncle! Now we have the first trailer for the great Theroux family adventure, coming April 30th on Apple TV. And it looks like an intense family get-together.

Theroux appears as an inventor, idealist and man on the run from a shameful family conspiracy by the American government. And he takes his family with him – wife Melissa George (The Eddy), daughter Logan Polish (The astronaut builder) and son Gabriel Bateman (Child’s play). Will they find salvation in Mexico? Or are they just getting more and more dangerous until Theroux tears his family apart?

The show comes from the creator Neil Cross (Luther), who acts as executive producer alongside the episodic director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), both Therouxs, Edward L. McDonnell (Counterpart) and Veritas Entertainment Group Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen. This is the second on-screen adaptation of the novel. a 1986 film version of Peter Weir and adapted by Paul Schrader stared Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and Phoenix River. This new take, a seven-episode series, looks gripping, complicated, and intense – but it also looks like it falls into some kind of “white family outlived creepy brown gangsters” that we see over and over again in works peppermint.
