Quick and Livid 9 faces one other launch date delay

Here we go again. After news that some Tentpole releases, including No Time to Die and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, have been delayed again, news is starting to spread that more blockbusters are about to join the party and it sounds like Fast & Furious 9 it will be under. According to a new report, Universal Pictures is planning to postpone F9 to a later date in the year and postpone the action film to the end of the summer season instead of the beginning to give the current circumstances a little more time to relax.

Current predictions for the introduction of vaccines assume that they will only develop their full effect in late summer. A delay would therefore allow F9 to be released when audiences feel a little more comfortable returning to the theaters. Should that happen, we could look at another missing summer season where the removal of F9 leaves a blockbuster-sized gaping hole.

F9 begins with Dom Toretto from Vin Diesel, who now leads a quiet life away from the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian. Of course, they know that danger always lurks just above their peaceful horizon, and this time around that threat will force Dom to face the sins of his past if he is to save those he loves most. The Fast and Furious family must reunite to stop a world-shattering conspiracy led by Dom’s younger brother Jakob, a deadly assassin who works with their old enemy Cipher and holds a personal vengeance against Dom.

Directed by Justin Lin, F9 stars will star Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and John Cena as Jakob Toretto. Fast and Furious 9 is set to be the first film in a final trilogy to complete the long-running franchise.

The highly anticipated sequel has now been delayed several times in light of the ongoing global situation, and the possibility of a streaming release has been discussed. Vin Disel has devoted himself to a traditional theatrical release, however, with the actor recently declaring, “I am so committed to the theater experience. Obviously, I have dedicated my life to it [the cinema]. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that we will be there on May 28th with a film that everyone wants to see together. “

Diesel is not alone. His words echo the feelings of his F9 co-star and onscreen brother, John Cena, who recently stated that the action sequel “is definitely a reason to go to the movies”. The no-nonsense action franchise has been a huge hit over the years. It has reached millions and has a very passionate following. Hopefully these factors will lead audiences to defy the cinemas once it is safe to do so.

F9 is currently slated to hit theaters in the US on May 28, 2021, after several delays since its original April 2019 release date. However, if you want to write it on your busy schedule, be sure to use a pencil. Should the film be delayed, it will join No Time to Die, Ghostbusters: The Afterlife, Uncharted, Cinderella, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway and Morbius, all of which have now been pushed back.
