Ring within the new yr with Avengers: Endgame and Snap Away 2020 at precisely midnight
It’s time to say goodbye to 2020. And what could be better than spending the year with Tony Stark Avengers: Endgame? It’s New Year’s Eve, a time when the world celebrates the end of a year and the beginning of a new one. Parties usually happen around this time of year, but for the most part it won’t happen in 2020 thanks to the public health crisis that still rages across the world.
If you start watching Avengers: Endgame at exactly 9:29:30 p.m. this New Year’s Eve, Tony Stark will snap his fingers and exit Thanos. At the same time, 2020 disappears and 2021 begins.

Zoom parties will likely be the way most people celebrate New Years Eve, but there are other ways too. For example, Marvel Studios didn’t release any new material this year, so it’s a good time to look back and think about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One fan found out that if you start Avengers: Endgame at 9:29:30 p.m., you can watch Tony Stark along with Thanos as he snaps away in 2020. After that, however, Stark dies, so after that perfect snapshot you may want to hunt for another movie.
If you want to try something a little more uplifting, an MCU fan suggests starting Iron Man 3 at exactly 11:55:50 PM on New Years Eve. “The clock in the real world will strike midnight at exactly the same time as it did in the movie, so you can celebrate the New Year with Tony Stark.” With no new additions to the MCU, many fans may choose to spend New Year’s Eve watching the Phase 3 movies in preparation for Phase 4 in 2021.
The MCU is obviously not for everyone. Fortunately, there are some great alternatives to ring in the New Year with movies. “If you start watching Back to the Future at exactly 10:19:08 on New Year’s Eve, Marty will be traveling from 1955 to 1985 when the clock strikes midnight,” says one social media user. Another social media user says, “If you watch the LEGO Batman movie on New Years Eve at 10:34:58 pm, ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ will play exactly at midnight.” In other words, there are many different ways to say goodbye to 2020 tonight while using movies.
Almost all of the big 2020 movies that should be out are coming to theaters and streaming services now in 2021. There are a handful of 2020 films that made it to theaters this year, but for the most part, people have stayed their homes in an effort to stay safe and healthy. With a vaccine on its way to the public, it’s possible that New Years Eve 2021 could be very different. We can only hope at this point. The start time for The Avengers: Endgame New Year’s Eve was first announced by The Epilogue Twitter account.
