Simone Biles says she is going to “do something” to take part within the Tokyo Olympics: “I’m 100 p.c”

Nothing can stop Simone Biles from participating in the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, she said Hoda Kotb on NBC News’ TODAY.

In an interview on Jan. 22, the 23-year-old gymnast said that while she was disappointed that the 2020 Summer Olympics have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, she hopes the global event will take place as planned in 2021, no matter what that means to you.

Simone, who said she is “training as if” the Olympics were on schedule, said, “Hopefully the Olympics can still take place even if it means we’re in a bubble. I’ll be in this one Right now, basically doing anything … It’s only a matter of time before we hear what the Olympic Committee has to say and what precautions they will take. But whatever they say we should do, I am 100 percent. “

At the moment there are only rumors that the Olympic Games, which are slated to go to Tokyo this summer, will be postponed again or even canceled if the coronavirus pandemic continues. So far, Japan has denied the rumors, saying the show will go on although it is almost inevitable that some precautionary measures will be taken – such as keeping the competition in a “bubble” like the NBA did in 2020.
