Surprise Lady 1984: When Does the DCEU Film Depart HBO Max?

Consider this your last call to hang out with Diana Prince and Steve Trevor.

Gal Gadot and Chris Pine in Wonder Woman 1984

It’s almost time for Wonder Woman 1984 HBO leaving Max. The unique Christmas and Day 2020 release for the 2017 sequel Wonder woman means that unlike a typical new HBO Max arrival, this movie wouldn’t hang around for too long. Even so, Wonder Woman made a splash while at HBO Max in 1984. After its release on December 25, 2020, Wonder Woman wagged tongues across the internet in 1984, often leaving fans split over how to deal with certain characters and plot points. Good or bad, the 1984 release of Wonder Woman on HBO Max marked a landmark decision between the streamer and Warner Bros. fashion like this DCEU movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 Kristen Wiig

So, here’s the deal: 1984 Wonder Woman leaves HBO Max on Sunday January 24th. This means you have a little less than a week to watch (or watch again) the DCEU sequel before it evaporates from the streaming platform. As previously reported, HBO Max’s 1984 release of Wonder Woman meant the streamer would only have a 31 day window. Hence, it has always been part of the plan for it to leave on January 24th. With HBO Max making a place for some of the DCEU films on its platform, there’s a good chance Wonder Woman will return in 1984 and have a more permanent spot on the HBO Max catalog. However, we still don’t know when that might be. So keep your eyes peeled for special announcements on this topic.

(What this story will be or which cast will return or join is still unclear.) Whether this story, like its predecessor, will receive an HBO Max release with the day and date remains to be seen.
