The battle machine will return within the falcon and the winter soldier confirms Don Cheadle
When it comes to Marvel Studios, news about casting and who will appear in which projects are closely guarded secrets that are only revealed in an official announcement and until then, when confronted with the rumors, will lie the associates through their teeth. But Don Cheadle, Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine of the MCU, has confirmed he’s ready to join the cast of The falcon and the winter soldier and even shared details about Armor Wars.
It’s already been confirmed that while Sam and Bucky are the show’s title characters, every now and then many familiar faces will pop up, like Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter and Baron Zemo, played by Daniel Bruhl, who will repeat their roles for the first time since Captain America and the winter soldier. But it looks like Falcon won’t be the only Avenger on the upcoming show, as Cheadle made a solid mark on his return as War Machine on the Disney + series.
“That’s part of the MCU’s fun, which we can all show in each other’s stories, and there are ways we can use these characters across platforms and they sometimes become storylines in the films. And then those storylines in the films become storylines in the shows, “said the actor.
“It’s really fun and interesting and completely open to the imagination – it can go anywhere. It’s great, I can’t wait to get in the room with the writers and find out what all these things look like [connecting Armor Wars to the MCU] happen. You know, Rhodey shows up on the Winter Soldier and Falcon show. ”
This is an exciting addition that has not been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios before, and it may get Don Cheadle in trouble for releasing it too early. What we don’t know is in what capacity War Machine will be a part of the show, considering the character is about to get his own MCU series, Armor Wars. All we know is that Rhodey and Sam both lost their best friends – Captain America chose to lag behind, and Tony Stark sacrificed himself to end Thanos. Now that Sam has to consider whether he is ready to be the next Captain America, Rhodey may be his guiding light.
As for the arms wars, Cheadle has not only revealed details of how his character will develop in the MCU, but has also confirmed that Tony Stark’s tragic death “will be featured on the series” in Avengers: Endgame.
“I’m pretty sure the death of Tony Stark will play a role on the show,” said Cheadle. “Where we kind of evolved Rhodey – even in the last movie where he’s now up and now back on and now back on the move – while technology keeps advancing and we keep innovating in suit and what happens I imagine “There’s going to be a different elevation and a different way we’re going to dig further into that part of Rhodey.”
“But it’s really exciting to find a way to bridge what’s going on in the comics and what’s going on on the screen in the MCU and how we can make these worlds work,” he added.
Compared to all of the recent interviews with Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, etc., in which the stars barely revealed important details about the specific plot of their shows, Cheadle seems to have spilled a ton of beans. The message comes to us via BroBible.
