The Mandalorian Season 2 premiere lastly exhibits a brand new level of hope
The Mandalorian The season two premiere contains an important link to A New Hope. Disney + is currently streaming the first episode, with episode 2 arriving next Friday. The first episode of the second season lasts almost an hour and Din Djarin finds himself back on Tatooine with the child when they search for another Mandalorian. Tatooine is a major destination in the Star Wars universe, largely because it’s the home of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. There are SPOILER for Mandalorian Season 2 below.
When C-3PO and R2-D2 first arrive on Tatooine in A New Hope, the large skeleton of a snake-like creature can be seen in the background. Star Wars fans later found out that this was the skeleton of a Krayt dragon, and one of them is portrayed alive as the villain of the episode when The Mandalorian kicks off season two. It came as a shock to hardcore fans and confused others who were unfamiliar with the history of the Krayt Dragon within the franchise, both in the official canon and in Legends.
The 1996 Star Wars: Customizable Card Game contains several Krayt Dragon cards, one of which is titled “Krayt Dragon Howl”. This is a reference to Obi-Wan’s reputation that put the Tusken Raiders off in A New Hope. As it turned out, the Jedi Master mimicked the sound of a Krayt dragon, a fact mentioned in the novella for A New Hope. Now Star Wars fans understand why the Tusken Raiders were so scared by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s scream because they didn’t want a Krayt dragon to show up. This shows how far Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will please fans new and old.
The start of the second season in the Wild West style of The Mandalorian goes a long way towards humanizing the Tusken Raiders. The attackers share a common enemy with Cobb Vanth’s fellowship in the Krayt Dragon, and they must unite to put him down, despite having fought each other in the past. After making their deal and working as a team to defeat the Krayt Dragon, the Tusken Raiders begin to tear apart the insides of the massive dragon.
At the end of the episode, the Tusken Raiders pull a Krayt dragon bead from the innards of the giant animal and celebrate it. By doing war of stars Universe, the pearls are incredibly valuable and can also be used for lightsabers. However, using part of the Krayt Dragon Bead to set up a new lightsaber is quite difficult and takes a lot of time and effort. The pearl can be seen in the video games Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Old Republic, along with new canon material, particularly the book “Legacy of the Jedi” and now “The Mandalorian”. The episode proves that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni draw from deep Star Wars lore to tell their new stories.
