The Witcher: Blood Origin Prequel casts Jodie Turner-Smith because the elite warrior
The Witcher: Blood Origin has cast his first role.
Netflix announced on Monday that The Last Ship’s Jodie Turner-Smith had boarded the prequel series in the role of Éile.
The six-part limited series Blood Origin takes place in an elven world set 1200 years before the world of The Witcher. It tells a story that has been lost in time – the creation of the first Witcher prototype and the events that led to the decisive link between the spheres, “when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into one,” says the official summary.
Turner-Smiths Éile is described as an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess who left her clan and position as the queen’s guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician. A great reckoning on the continent forces them to return to the path of the blade in their pursuit of vengeance and redemption.
In addition to her appearance as Azima of The Last Ship, Turner-Smith’s previous credits include Cinemax ‘Jett, Syfy’s Nightflyers, and the acclaimed indie film Queen & Slim.
Witcher producer / writer Declan de Barra will serve as showrunner for the prequel and executive produce alongside Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
