Why we’re all just a bit jealous of Serena Williams’ marriage to Alexis Ohanian
Williams texted her and suggested that Ohanian join her in France so he could see her at her best. Ohanian accepted, mainly because he thought it wasn’t a real request at all.
“Even if she blew me away and we don’t even hang out, I’ll still have a great time in Paris and I’ll have an even better story for all of my childhood friends,” he explained his argument to Vanity Fair, “than I did said: “Yes, I was in Paris for a weekend. I was supposed to meet up with Serena Williams, she blew me away, but I have other friends there and we had a great time. ‘”
What he did. Because Williams certainly didn’t blow him away, the two enjoyed their first post-game date, spending six hours wandering the streets of Paris, buying sweets from La Ménagerie in the Jardin des Plantes and at some of the city’s most famous tourist attractions to run past world. Casual.
While few would think of bringing together a world-class athlete and a tech giant, the two just work. Williams’ more passionate nature is the perfect complement to Ohanian’s steady calm.
Both are equally committed to being the best at what they do. They aligned each other with their interests. Williams now sits on the board of Silicon Valley-based SurveyMonkey while Ohanian has turned into the most passionate tennis fanatic.
